This ski-in/ski-out lodge offers an exceptional location and all-inclusive dining with high praise for the staff, though it has faced some operational issues like broken elevators and a controversial gratuity policy. Reviewers consistently highlight the welcoming atmosphere and the convenience of being steps from the trails.
The best skiing and the the best ski-in/ski out experience in Utah. It's truly an "eat, sleep, and ski" experience. I equate it to fishing in the Keyes. We have been coming here for years and love the atmosphere, the friendliness and the overall culture of GMD. To expect more from the "Greatest Snow on Earth" is an over-reach. Enjoy it. The history here is amazing.
This place is fantastic. Truly ski in/ski out. Fantastic staff. Breakfast, dinner, and apres bites are included and are fantastic. Reminds me of European resorts. They also have a saloon that is only for guests so you don’t have to fight the crowds at the resort cafeterias and bars. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Highly recommend and I will be back for sure.
The bar at Goldminer's Daughter is one of my favorites, great service, super draft beer selection and fair pricing. $6 for an IPA and $4 for a draft PBR are the lowest I've paid at any ski area and be sure to try the signature Alta Bomb. Kudos to Connor and all the staff. Cheers!
My husband and I stayed for 7 nights. This is truly a skiers hotel. The staff were all kind and helpful. Chef Tom made an excellent breakfast and dinner menu every night. They are very flexible with food allergies. They have washers and dryers in the hotel. The location is perfect at the Collin’s lift. Every night they have apres in the Saloon for guests only (nice touch). The saloon is also open for lunch if you want to avoid the massive crowd in the cafe. Best ski trip!
I kind of stumbled into this hotel in Alta, but what a find! The location is perfect with real ski in/out. The staff are all so nice and so far the food is really well done with lots of made to order items and incredible home made muffins ?.
If you need to put your boots on in a warm space in the morning, this is your spot. Hip, friendly and easy going vibe and great for people watching. Alta has a culture of skiers like no other mountain and this place embodies it perfectly. Overall clean and homey feel. But don't stay too long, the mountain is the highlight and never disappoints.
Stopped into the tshirt shop to ask if they had Smith lenses, was told by a super snarky long haired male employee that I could “try the internet.” No kidding. Couldn’t pay me to spend money at any of the establishments owned by this family when their employees are so blatantly disrespectful to their patrons.
Super friendly staff, great menu in their dining room and you can't beat the location!
We’ve had a home in Alta for decades so we only go to the bar. Plenty of room to sit. Always a warm fire place going. Excellent beers. The nachos used to be better.
Excellent place but a little overpriced. Super friendly staff. #1 best location. Three complaints: They add the dining service fee to your room total, plus the server always gives you a blank gratuity slip for you to write in the tip. Double tipping comes to around 35%. .. The guest area recreation room was occupied by employee's beer/pizza party. .. First day both elevators broken. Walk upstairs carrying ski equipment! After that, just one working. (7 months closed, should have everything in tip-top shape.)
