The Lone Pine Chalet, or Snowpine Lodge, offers a stunning, museum-like atmosphere with exceptional views and comfortable accommodations. While recent reviews highlight a memorable experience with fantastic service and amenities, past guests have experienced significant issues with air conditioning and a lack of responsiveness from management.
What a memorable experience! The lodge is rustic and stunning. I explored each floor looking at all the original artwork. Truly, it felt like a museum. My bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in and the furnishings were all just gorgeous. I had a million dollar view from our balcony and my sister and I walked out the back door, found a trail and enjoyed a hike where we saw wildflowers, a waterfall, a mother deer with her fawn. We also enjoyed a great meal at The Gulch and relaxed in the pool and hot tub. I will definitely be back. One of the most unique places I've ever stayed!
We stayed at Snowpine Lodge for three nights to escape the summer heat and enjoy hiking and the Snowbird tram. Unfortunately, we experienced air conditioning issues throughout our stay and ended up moving rooms twice. After three nights of poor sleep, we simply didn’t have the energy to enjoy the mountain activities we came for. The front desk staff was friendly and genuinely tried to help. Our disappointment was with the lack of resolution from maintenance and the limited empathy from management. We understand that mechanical issues happen, but when the main reason for your trip is a cool, comfortable place to sleep, it has a huge impact on the entire experience. Snowpine is a beautiful property in an incredible setting, which makes this even more disappointing. We came with very high expectations and truly wanted to give this place five stars. We hope they’re able to improve both their response to A/C issues and the way they’re handled when they affect a guest’s stay.
It was an INCREDIBLE experience! The accommodations, food, service, and staff were a dream!!! Our wedding guests raved about everything!!! My daughter is a wedding planner based in Dallas and Okc. She works with many venues and their staff. She chose Snowpine for her own wedding. It was sensational! They anticipated every detail. 4 wedding planners, 2 photographers and a videographer were in attendance and will be recommending Snowpine to their clients.
We had such a great wedding weekend at the Snow Pine Lodge! The hotel is beautiful, the staff is so accommodating, the food was excellent! Everything about our long weekend in Ulta, Utah was spectacular! Thank you especially to Shannon and the whole staff in the restaurants and catering. We had so much fun. We will definitely be returning for another trip in the future.
I am posting from a wedding planner's perspective. I planned a destination wedding at Snowpine Lodge, and the wedding was this past weekend. And we had the BEST experience. The front desk team is so friendly and will take care of your every need (shoutout to Meg and Shannon). The Sales and Event team is wonderful and handled everything so well (thanks Caitlyn!). The banquet event managers went above and beyond (Ingrid and Drew were wonderful). We had the rehearsal dinner, welcome party, tent reception, and the after party all at Snowpine and everything was perfect! If you are a bride considering Snowpine, I highly recommend it!
The property had everything we needed for a wonderful stay
Our group of nine 50-something men had an amazing ski trip and loved staying in the Lone Pine Chalet. The house is super convenient to the slopes. Short walk to a cat track in the morning, and ski right to the back door at the end of the day. The Alta Chalet staff are extremely attentive and helpful. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay!
Thanks so much to the Alta Chalet team for everything! Everyone that we had contact with was fantastic. they were incredibly friendly, informative & very responsive. The chalet was beautiful and everything that we had hoped for on our vacation. Thanks again, we will definitely be back! Sara
This house is spacious with gorgeous views and all you can think of needing for a week skiing. The rooms are plenty large and it was so nice to have so many bathrooms. As the ad says, the table in the DR area seats 10, but there are two desk chairs that can be added for the full 12. We didn't end up with amazing conditions (no new snow), but still had a blast. It's and easy in and out to Alta and you can also get to the base of Snowbird by going left out of the house. There is a hot tub in the garage and you can open the door, enjoy the view, and recover from skiing (and they serviced this daily, so it was pristine). Our liaison from the rental agency was very communicative and extremely helpful throughout our stay.
We stayed at the Lone Pine Chalet during the peak Christmas and new year and our review and rating is based on the fact that we paid “premium” for a luxury chalet - this place didn't meet the mark. The pros - 1) lovely views from the main reception window, and 2) lots of bedrooms and able to cater for a large group. Cons - 1) for price, we found the chalet tired and dated, with old carpets and worn out furniture, no decor, and very outdated bathrooms (we had problems with 2 of them and 1 of them was not available for use during our entire stay!), 2) it is advertised as ski in ski out but what they don't make clear is the ski out is a skate/climb for a fairly long distance and it is easier to call the shuttle bus and take it to base of Alta, and ski in is for experienced skiers only, 3) the new hot tub is in the garage which seemed strange but there is no space elsewhere to put it, 4) be warned about interlodge at powder ridge whereby you are not allowed to leave the chalet (this happened to us once), and 5) there is no grocery shopping in Alta at all - the closest place to stock up is in snowbird and that requires a car or going to base of Alta to pick up the main bus (and a 4x4 is essential if you have a car since there is not really any Ubers). Team at Alta Chalet were generally helpful and responsive but their description should be more clear.
